Kieren Fallon's volte-face

Coolmore Stud PR Agency, Primus yesterday announced: "Owners John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith are delighted to announce that Kieren Fallon will be retained jockey for their horses at Ballydoyle and elsewhere for the 2005 season."

Earlier in the week the Racing Post had reported that Fallon had stopped off at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados for talks with Magnier and Tabor.

Roger Federer and Ronnie O'Sullivan both win again

I have updated the Ronnie O'Sullivan and Roger Federer news pages in light of their victories today. It looks like it's business as usual. The Federer piece has a great quote from his interview with the Sunday Times, whilst in the Ronnie O'Sullivan article I have tried to contrast the excellent quality of play around at the moment with the way the sport is run.

Roy Keane delivers a subtle message

Roy Keane said yesterday that Sir Alex Ferguson will decide when Keane will retire. Keane signalled a change of mind about the timing of his retirement.

But the most important implication of his quote below is that Sir Alex Ferguson intends to stay on as manager of Manchester United for the forseeable future.

Jimmy White turns Brown

I've just looked at The Betfair odds for the Snooker Masters and you can get about 70/1 on somebody called J. White to win the snooker Masters. The trouble is that there is no player of that name!

Jimmy White has changed his name by deedpole to Jimmy Brown as a result of HP Sauce's decision to sponsor the brown ball at next week’s Masters....
