Seagulls rear their heads again

FA executive director David Davies is supposed to have described Sven Goran Erikkson as having a 'roving eye', and to have compared Sven to a seagull – 'who wraps his wings around people'.

This is not the first time that seagulls have been used as a metaphor in a football context. Eric Cantona famously said: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown in to the sea".

Big Brother: Makosi gets busy

Big Brother put into play a speed dating theme which gave Maxwell the opportunity to have a snog with Saskia, but it was Makosi who stole the show with her antics with Sam and Anthony.

The Big Brother housemates alternate between immature bitching and shrewd insights. At times they seem capable of incredibly open honesty, and at other times they are unable to be anything apart from totally disengenuous.

As at 3.21am Makosi was favourite on Betfair to win the whole competition and Sam was very short favourite to be third eviction. It is possible this is based on inside information as to how the polling is going so far; or perhaps some shrewdies think that the anti-Derek/Roberto vote will be split thus leading to Sam's eviction.
