With
biogs, we try to provide objective factual biographies. Sometimes we allow our views to creep in and we make judgements on the subjects of the biographies. We used to do this more and saw it as a way of circumventing plagiarism but most of our users were simply after the facts and so, by and large, facts is what we give them.
I couldn't resist, however, adding a short sentence to the
Abi Titmuss's biography about what I thought of her acting. I had seen a bad review in the FT and I thought I would relay, the surprising to many, judgement that she put in a good performance in the
Arthur Miller play
Two Way Mirror.
You will see the odd 'brilliant' creep in to our
biogs and I think very rarely a 'terrible' but unless we hear otherwise we'll leave the opinions to others (tempting though it is to pipe up) - in any case as
Woody Allen says in
Love and Death "Objectivity is Subjective"
