Big Brother's Sam and Amanda signed by Sony

The twins Sam and Amanda have been signed by Sony and are releasing a cover version of Barbie Girl.

The BBC reported that:
"A spokesman for record company Sony BMG, which has signed up the twins, said: "It is a measure of how much viewers identified with the twins that they were the only Big Brother contestants never to have been nominated for a single eviction.""

However, this seems to show a fundamental misunderstanding of Big Brother. With the very rare exception, it was housemates who decided on nominations and not the public.

So, although there is no doubt that the twins are popular, it has nothing to do with nominations.
