Cameron Diaz was born on 30 August 1972 in California, USA.
At 16, Cameron Diaz became a model and travelled the globe for five years, appearing in ads for famous brands like Nivea, Calvin Klein, Levi's and Coca-Cola, but in 1994 she broke into movies in The Mask.
It was a major breakthrough with Cameron Diaz taking the leading role opposite Jim Carrey.
Further films followed including lesser known movies like The Last Supper, Feeling Minnesota, She's the One and Head Above Water, before Cameron Diaz once again figured in huge hits, My Best Friend's Wedding and There's Something About Mary.
Cameron Diaz was already dating There's Something About Mary co-star Matt Dillon. Their relationship lasted a while, but eventually they separated and she got engaged to Fight Club actor Jared Leto in 2000, but they split a year later.
Meanwhile Cameron Diaz starred in the excellent Being John Malkovich (where the cast included John Malkovich) and the popular Charlie's Angels re-make with Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
Diaz was also the voice of Princess Fiona in Shrek.
