In his CV for The Apprentice, Lee McQueen stated that he was at Thames Valley from 1996 to 1998, but it transpired that he had only studied there for 4 months.

In spite of embellishing his CV, Lee McQueen reached the final 4 candidates of The Apprentice.

A week later, Lee McQueen was winner of The Apprentice.

Lee McQueen and Claire Young were paired in the final and beat their rivals Alex Wotherspoon and Helene Speight, and then Sir Alan Sugar chose Lee over Claire.

Lee McQueen's former boss, David Etherington said that The Apprentice winner had "weird wonderful motivational tactics .. one is called the reverse pterodactyl."

In The Apprentice: You're Hired, Sir Alan Sugar mentioned that Lee McQueen would be in charge of the sales and marketing of a new project putting up video screens that take advertising in a variety of places.

In July 2008 it was revealed that Lee McQueen called in sick on his first day of work for Sir Alan Sugar.

However, by the time of The Apprentice starting again in 2009, Lee McQueen was still working for Sir Alan Sugar at AMSHOLD, developing digital display advertising.
