In 2008 Celebrity Big Brother became Big Brother: Celebrity Highjack and was broadcast on E4.
The 2007 Celebrity Big Brother lasted longer than before: 25 days. It also attracted more publicity with accusations of racism being levelled against some of the housemates concerning their behaviour towards the eventual winner, Shilpa Shetty.
Chantelle Houghton, the non-celebrity, won in 2006 and ended up marrying fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestant Preston.
Bez formerly of Happy Mondays won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005. Previous Winners were Mark Owen and Jack Dee.
The 2007 series may have been the most controversial Celebrity Big Brother, but for many people it lacked the appeal of the previous year.
2006 Celebrity Big Brother proved compulsive viewing. Michael Barrymore, Pete Burns, Jodie Marsh and Dennis Rodman, in particular, provided thought-provoking moments. Other highlights were George Galloway doing an impression of a cat and Chantelle being Chantelle.
