Big Brother News: 17 June: Sam evicted: Bookies Beware
There were plenty of people who knew Sam was going to be evicted well ahead of the result of the vote tonight.
For people to bet with odds of 1/14 i.e. risk £14 to win £1, it's fair to say those people must be pretty confident.
Unlike sporting events, with Big Brother there are those who know the outcome before the rest of us. This is particularly the case if the vote is not close and therefore susceptible to a late swing.
When Craig and Mary were up for eviction, Davina kept mentioning that there was only about 8% in it. Tonight there was no such mention made.
So, as always, with gambling it's a question of buyer beware; but with Big Brother evictions it's more a case of bookie beware.
