Personal Life and Pre Bake Off

Candice Brown was born in North London and grew up in the pubs her parents ran.

She was 31 years old when she became a contestant on The Great British Bake Off Season 7.

She gained a degree in Sport, PE and Community Studies.

At the time of Bake Off Candice Brown lived with her partner Liam and their dog Dennis in Bedfordshire and taught PE at Ashlyns School in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

Bake Off

In the second week of Bake Off, Candice was star baker for her gingerbread version of her parents' pub.

She was also star baker in the fifth and eighth weeks.

In the end Candice Brown won The Great British Bake Off in 2016.

After Bake Off

After the show she decided to leave her teaching job to follow the opportunities that had arisen from her Bake Off victory.

In March 2017, it was revealed that Candice Brown's first book would be published in hardback by Ebury Press.

The book, Comfort: Delicious Bakes and Family Treats was published in July 2017.

In October 2017, it was revealed that Candice Brown would be a celebrity skater on Dancing on Ice.

She was partnered with Matt Evers.

Around the same time she announced she was getting engaged to Liam Macaulay, who had been jailed for 16 months in 2011 for dealing cannabis.

In 2020, Candice told Katie Thistleton and Dr Radha on Radio 1’s Life Hacks podcast about her mental health issues.
