Alister Cooling
Alister Cooling, from Leeds, was 24 when he entered BBC's reality TV series Castaway.
Alister, sometimes shortened to Al, evoked Hurley out of Lost.
At the time of Castaway, Alister Cooling was an unpublished fantasy fiction writer, whose writing was influenced by Buffy, Angel and 24.
Alister Cooling used to work as a commis chef in the mass production of fast food and as a night porter in a hotel.
He likes camping in the Lake District.
Asked by the BBC Castaway site what he is scared of, Alistair Cooling replied:
"As yet to find anything. I have successfully faced all my fears."
