Last Choir Standing co-presenter Nick Knowles worked for builders and played in bands before establishing himself as a TV presenter.

Nick Knowles has amassed numerous TV credits, including DIY SOS, which saw him break through into many people's awareness.

Other notable credits include the BBC's City Hospital and ITV's Find A Fortune.

In 2006, Nick Knowles signed a two-year deal to work exclusively with the BBC, which led to him hosting the notable Mission Africa.

Knowles made other trips to Africa for TV. In 2003, he went to Zambia for Comic Relief and Nick Knowles caught TB, having himself spent three days with a man who was dying of it.
