Flintoff's Century

26 August 2005: Andrew Flintoff scored his first hundred against Australia today on day two of the fourth Test against Australia.

Flintoff's partnership with Geraint Jones put England in a commanding position in the crucial match.

With the Ashes standing at 1-1 (England having been unlucky to just miss out on victory in the third test), Flintoff's 102 could prove the most important century of his career.

Whatever the outcome, it was a mature innings. Scored at a fast rate but not with reckless shots but magnificent ones.

It has been an excellent series with bat and ball for Flintoff. Coming in with England on 75 for six, Flintoff scored an exciting 73 in the second test. His all-round performance in that test being crucial to England levelling the series.
