Shannon Elizabeth Fadal was born on 7 September 1973, in Houston, Texas.

In Dancing with the Stars series 6, Shannon Elizabeth, as she is better known, partnered Derek Hough.

Shannon and Derek were voted off on the seventh week of Dancing with the Stars.

However, Dancing with the Stars had a lasting effect as it saw Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough get together in a relationship.

In October 2008, Derek Hough revealed to People Magazine that it was not just he who was living with Shannon but also three of his Almost Amy bandmates.

Shannon Elizabeth was a 1991 Waco High School graduate and was a useful tennis player, before she moved into modelling.

In the late 1990s Shannon Elizabeth had a variety of roles in films and on TV, but it was in the popular 1999 film American Pie, playing Nadia, that she became known to a wide audience.

Shannon Elizabeth appeared partially nude in the film, and a Playboy spread soon followed.

Her notable credits since American Pie include Scary Movie, American Pie 2 (2001), and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

Shannon Elizabeth also appeared in Thir13en Ghosts which prompted one BBC reviewer to say:

"The women, though, are awful, with Shannon Elizabeth yet again advancing her claim to be the worst actress of the decade."

More films and TV appearances followed, of which one of the most notable was a recurring role as Brooke in That 70s Show.

Shannon Elizabeth took her poker playing further and one of her achievements was to come third in the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Championship and won $125,000.

Shannon Elizabeth has split up with Joseph D. Reitman, whom she had married in June 2002.

Elizabeth and her ex-husband founded an animal rescue organization Animal Avengers.
