Alec Baldwin's Life

Alec Baldwin was born on 3 April 1958 in Amityville, New York, although he grew up in Massapequa, Long Island.

Alec Baldwin was married to Kim Basinger, with whom he co-starred in the remake of The Getaway in 1994. Their first appearance together was The Marrying Man in 1991.

Baldwin's marriage to Basinger ended badly and there have been heated custody battles over their daughter, Ireland. In the long-running war, Baldwin was ordered to undertake anger management classes. Basinger ended up as the primary care-giver and she and Ireland share their L.A. home with 21 animals.

A long custody battle ensued during which Basinger issued a statement claiming: "Everyone knows about Alec Baldwin's behavioural problems - his anger, his rages - they are, unfortunately, legendary ..."

In April 2007, the feuding between Baldwin and Basinger reached new heights with the release of a angry voicemail Alec Baldwin left his daughter Ireland.

Alec Baldwin played the lead role in "The Hunt for Red October" in 1990 and Malice in 1993.

In 2002, Baldwin acted in and directed a version of The Devil and Daniel Webster. In 2003, he appeared in the excellent The Cooler, which featured a wonderful performance by William H Macy.

Alec Baldwin received a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination for his role in The Cooler.

In July 2007, Alec Baldwin won the Individual Achievement in Comedy award for his work on NBC's 30 Rock at The 23rd annual Television Critics Association Awards.
