A bowler hat and cane used by Charlie Chaplin in the 1940 film The Great Dictator were sold for almost US $140,000.
14 December 2004: Auction of Chaplin Cane and Moustaches
Charlie Chaplin's cane that he used in movie Modern Times has been sold for £47,800 ($92,000) to a private US buyer at a London auction today.
Also sold were two moustaches worn by Chaplin in The Great Dictator. They fetched £11,950 and £17,925 each.
It's an interesting thought that one moustache is worth thousands of dollars more than the other!
