Chelsy Davy was born in Zimbabwe in January 1986. Her parents, Charles and Beverley, were multi-millionaires.

The Telegraph reported how Charles Davy, a safari operator, responded to allegations regarding his business partnership with one of President Robert Mugabe's ministers.

Chelsy Davy was educated at Girls College in Bulawayo before continuing her schooling in the UK at Cheltenham Ladies' College and Stowe.

She studied politics, philosophy and economics at the University of Cape Town, but it was while studying in England that she met Prince Harry and they began dating in the spring of 2004.

In an article in The Daily Mail about Tatler's list of power blondes, the paper points out that:

"Tatler hails Chelsy as 'the new face of royalty'.

"At first merely a South African Sloane with Page Three looks, Chelsy soon proved she had two major assets - she looked good and partied hard," the magazine said.

"A whole new breed has emerged: Chelsy Girls. Girls Aloud on the outside, Debrett's on the inside."

Barbara Ellen in The Observer contrasted Chelsy Davy with Kate Middleton:

"Then there is Chelsy - another type, an over-emotional, mouthy can't-hold-her-drink/I'm-going-to-move-to-Britain-because-I-love you' type. An anti-Kate, who seems to be on a one-woman mission to prove just how unsuitable she is. To all intents and purposes, it's a bit like having a South African Lily Allen storming the palace and goosing the second in line to the throne ..."

In August 2007, Chelsy Davy had an emergency appendix operation.

In 2007, Chelsy Davy secured a place at Leeds University.

On 24 January 2009, the BBC reported that Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy had ended their relationship.

Harry and Chelsy got back together but subsequently broke up again.

In 2011 Chelsy Davy started work as a trainee solicitor with the law firm Allen & Overy.
