12 January 2005 - Mark Thatcher to plead guilty
Having originally denied being involved in a plan to overthrow the government of Equatorial Guinea, it has today been reported that Mark Thatcher is to plead guilty to being negligent in investing in an aircraft that was thought to have been used by people alleged to have been plotting a coup.
Reports suggest that there has been a plea bargain and that Thatcher will receive a suspended sentence and a fine. It has also been suggested that he intends to leave South Africa.
