Jimmy White's News
November 2009: Jimmy White enters the jungle
Jimmy White has become a contestant on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Before the show started he explained his approach and compared it to snooker:
"I've won 10 ranking tournaments, 27 invitation tournaments - I've been doing it for 30 years. I'll try and bring that sort of experience into the camp and be positive and treat it as a competition. To get further on in the competition you've got to sort of try and switch off and eat the bugs and do the trials because you're helping your team."
2 March 2009: Jimmy White fails to qualify for the World Championship
In spite of making breaks of 124 and 120, Jimmy White failed to qualify for the World Championship for the third year running, when he lost 10-8 to Andy Hicks.
10 February 2005: Jimmy White turns Brown
I've just looked at The Betfair odds for the Snooker Masters and you can get about 70/1 on somebody called J. White to win the snooker Masters. The trouble is that there is no player of that name!
Jimmy White has changed his name by deedpole to Jimmy Brown as a result of HP Sauce's decision to sponsor the brown ball at next week's Masters.
Jimmy will keep the name for the whole of the event, and possibly the world snooker championship.
"It's an idea that's put the fun back into snooker," said Jimmy White - oops, Jimmy Brown.
Biogs.com apologises for our laziness but we do not intend to reindex Jimmy under Brown instead of White, especially as he plans to become Mr White again.
Our plans may have to change though because Jimmy says:
"If I win the Masters I might keep it that way! I'll just go through the tournament and go from there.
"The Godfather of Soul! I like it. Who knows - I might be James Brown for the rest of my career."
