26 September 2007: Tiger Woods is PGA player of the year

Hot on the heels of achieving the lowest score of his career to win the Tour Championship by an extraordinary eight strokes, Tiger Woods has been named PGA player of the year for the ninth time in just 11 years.


12 August 2007: Tiger Woods won his 13th major title with victory in the USPGA. Woods ended up 2 shots ahead of Woody Austin and 3 ahead of the resurgent Ernie Els to move within five titles of Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 majors.

Central to the victory was the 63 that Tiger Woods shot on Friday, just one shot away from the record for the lowest score in major history.


19 June 2007: Tiger Woods is a father for the first time. His wife Elin has given birth to a baby daughter, Sam Alexis Woods.


28 January 2007: The year started in familiar fashion with Tiger Woods winning again. Tiger Woods was victorious at the Buick Invitational, thereby winning his seventh consecutive PGA Tour title - the second longest winning streak in PGA history. Byron Nelson holds the record with 11 straight wins.

Tiger Woods said:

"Winning breeds winning and the more you win, the more you understand how to do it, and you do it different ways."


30 December 2006: Tiger Woods on his official website has announced on that he and Elin are expecting their first child.

As for golf, Woods's 2007 PGA tour campaign will start at the Buick Invitational in late January.
