Tiger Woods news in 2008

18 June 2008: Tiger Woods pulls out of rest of the season

Tiger Woods announced that he will miss the rest of the season to have surgery on his injured left knee. It will be the fourth time Tiger Woods's left knee will have been operated on.

16 June 2008: Tiger Woods clinches the US Open 2008

In a tournament in which he suffered discomfort from his injured knee, Tiger Woods still managed to win his 14th major title after defeating veteran Rocco Mediate in a cliff-hanger, crucially parring the first sudden-death hole of the play-off.

14 April 2008: Tiger Woods takes second at the Masters

Tiger Woods made his usual charge up his leaderboard, but he could not catch Trevor Immelman at the 72nd Masters at Augusta.

Tiger Woods ended up second and Immelman put his victory into context:

"To win a major while Tiger's playing, and he's told us he's playing at his peak, it's an achievement."

16 March 2008: Tiger Woods wins the Arnold Palmer Invitational

It was business as usual for Tiger Woods, as he continued his 6 month undefeated run and notched up his fifth career win at Bay Hill.

The victory, thanks in part to a 24-yard putt at the 18th, meant that Tiger Woods is the first player in PGA history to win four tournaments at least five times.
