Who is Zaraah Abrahams?

Early Life

Zaraah Abrahams was born in 1987 in London.

She went to the Italia Conti stage school and as a youngster played Magda in ITV's Girls in Love.

Coronation Street

Zaraah Abrahams then became known to a wider audience playing Underworld factory worker Joanne Jackson for two-and-a-half years in Coronation Street.

After leaving Coronation Street, Zaraah Abrahams joined the BBC drama Waterloo Road, where she played one of the pupils, Michaela.

Subsequently, her credits have included Holby City and The Knick.

In 2020, she was cast in the recurring role of Chelsea Fox in EastEnders. In 2022, she was nominated for Best Leading Performer at the British Soap Awards.

Dancing on Ice

In 2008, Zaraah Abrahams replaced Michael Underwood after he was injured, as a contestant on ITV's Dancing on Ice.

Zaraah Abrahams had been a reserve on Dancing on Ice and so had kept up her skating since November 2007 but it was only when Michael Underwood pulled out that she started practising with skating partner Fred Palascak.

Nevertheless in her first week on Dancing on Ice she scored a very respectable 18.5.

In weeks 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Dancing on Ice, Zaraah and Fred were involved in the skate-off, but in all four cases survived, so that they made it to the final three.

Although Zaraah Abrahams and Fred Palascak skated their best yet in the final, they lost out to Suzanne Shaw & Matt Evers and Chris Fountain & Frankie Poultney to have the chance to dance Bolero in the final two couples.

Zaraah Abrahams was selected to be one of the all-stars to appear in the final series of Dancing on Ice in 2014. This time she was partnered by Andrew Buchanan.
