Rosemary Jean Neil Conley was born on 19 December 1946, the daughter of Oswald and Edith Weston.

She went to Bushloe High School in Wigston.

Rosemary Conley's life was transformed in the mid 1980s when she employed a low-fat diet plan, which she wrote about in Hip and Thigh Diet, which was published in 1988.

Numerous other popular diet books followed.

In 1993, Rosemary Conley and her second husband, Mike Rimmington, launched Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Clubs.

Three years later, they launched the Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness magazine.

Rosemary Conley has also been a regular diet and fitness expert on TV.

In December 2001 she became the first woman to be granted the Freedom of the City of Leicester.

Rosemary Conley was awarded the CBE in the New Year's Honours list for 2004.

Her entry in Who's Who lists her hobbies as "ski-ing, walking our dogs, home making, cooking, flower arranging, writing, speaking about and sharing my Christian testimony."

In 2012, Rosemary Conley joined the ITV show Dancing on Ice, in which she was paired with Mark Hanretty. They were voted off in week 6.
