Nicky Slater
Dancing on Ice judge Nicky Slater was born on 6 April 1958.
Nicky Slater's parents taught ice skating and his mother Joan was awarded an MBE having taught numerous champions and having herself been British Ice Dance champion.
Nicky Slater and his fellow Dancing on Ice judge Karen Barber were British champions in 1985 and third in the European championships and fifth in the world championships in 1984.
Nicky Slater and Kathryn Winter had been junior world champions back in 1976.
As well as being a judge on Dancing on Ice, Nicky Slater has also judged the world professional championships.
Nicky Slater commentates on ice events on ITV, Channel Four and Eurosport.
Together with another Dancing on Ice judge, Robin Cousins, he set up a production company arranging ice shows for American television.
In 2008, Nicky Slater has his own tour of Britain called Ice Times.
He is a member of Mensa.
In February 2008, in the middle of the Dancing on Ice series, Nicky Slater became a father when his wife Christianne had a baby.
Nicky and Christianne married in May 2007.
