Sean Wilson
- Former Coronation Street actor, Sean Wilson, who played Martin Platt, was born on 4 April 1965, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Cheshire.
- Sean Wilson left Coronation Street after 20 years when he refused to do a storyline in which he was supposed to go to bed with an under-age girl. According to The Sun, he said: "I didn't want to be castigated as a person and, as a dad, I didn’t want my kids to be picked on because of it." However, it has been given a slightly diffrent slant elsewhere with Coronation Street producer Tony Wood quoted as saying: "Sean has been a valued member of cast for 20 years, however, after a run of dramatic storylines, we felt there was nowhere left for the character to go at the moment."
- In Dancing on Ice, Sean Wilson partnered five times British National Champion, Marika Humphreys. Sean got to the last six but was eliminated after the judges voted 4 to 1 to keep Kelly Holmes and say goodbye to Sean.
