Big Brother's Sam and Amanda signed by Sony

The twins Sam and Amanda have been signed by Sony and are releasing a cover version of Barbie Girl.

The BBC reported that: "A spokesman for record company Sony BMG, which has signed up the twins, said: "It is a measure of how much viewers identified with the twins that they were the only Big Brother contestants never to have been nominated for a single eviction.""

However, this seems to show a fundamental misunderstanding of Big Brother. With the very rare exception, it was housemates who decided on nominations and not the public.

So, although there is no doubt that the twins are popular, it has nothing to do with nominations.

Chanelle returns to Big Brother briefly

Chanelle Hayes briefly re-entered the Big Brother house as a 'mystery guest' in the Big Brother Quiz. It was a shock to Ziggy, who also watched a recording of Richard Madeley criticising him.

It's the last week of a relatively dull Big Brother series. Recently, Channel Four announced that they were temporarily dropping Celebrity Big Brother. When you factor in that the return of Castaway on the BBC was a complete ratings flop, it is obvious that the reality TV landscape is changing radically.

Don't be surprised if we soon see the next 'big idea' to fill the vacuum.

BIg Brother series 8 Launched

Years ago, when they had their first series, if anything Castaway seemed a more significant series than Big Brother, but now in the 21st Century Castaway has finished with a whimper and Big Brother has launched with a bang.

Biogs has just lanched its special Big Brother section which includes biographies of all the housemates:Emily, Carole, Lesley, Nicky, Sam, Amanda, Shabnam, Chanelle, Charley Richardson, Laura, and Tracey.
