Gerrard may leave Liverpool
There has been increasing speculation that Steven Gerrard is about to leave Liverpool.
It is a sensitive issue for both sides. Liverpool F.C. would not wish to alienate their fans by seeming to cold-shoulder their hero; and Steven Gerrard would want to be careful to protect his reputation as a loyal servant of the club.
Whichever way it is presented, if Steven Gerrard departs, is it possible that it will be more important as an emblem than in reality?
