Strictly Come Dancing: Gary Rhodes
In the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Gary Rhodes partnered Karen Hardy.
It was not the brightest start for Gary Rhodes in Strictly Come Dancing, when he got a 1 from Craig Revel Horwood in the first programme.
Nevertheless Karen and Gary survived the first week of Strictly Come Dancing, not even being voted into the dance-off.
However Gary Rhodes and Karen Hardy ended up the third couple voted off the show after losing the dance-off against Mark and Haley.
Gary Rhodes was born in South London in 1960, but spent most of his childhood in Gillingham.
Rhodes graduated from Thanet Technical College in Kent, which is where he met his wife, Jennie.
Gary Rhodes had a variety of jobs before gaining Michelin stars at the Castle Hotel in Somerset and then at The Greenhouse in Mayfair where he was Head Chef.
Rhodes established two London restaurants, city rhodes and Rhodes in the Square, as well as Rhodes & Co brasseries, the Rhodes Restaurant at Calabash, Grenada, Arcadian Rhodes on the P&O superliner and another on P&O's Oriana.
Gary Rhodes has presented several TV series including Rhodes Around Britain and Gary's Perfect Christmas, as well as Hell's Kitchen in 2005 jointly with Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Gary Rhodes is a Manchester United fan and is a shareholder with Sir Alex Ferguson of an online restaurant booking service.
Gary Rhodes was awarded an OBE in 2007.
He and Jennie have two sons.
