Alex Scott was born on 14 October 1984 in London and was brought up in Tower Hamlets by her mother Carol McKee.
Her parents split up when she was seven, and Alex spoke to Woman's Hour about the abuse she received from her father.
Alex started to play football for Arsenal when she was just eight years old.
She was part of the England team that took third place in the 2015 World Cup.
Off the pitch, she set up The Alex Scott Academy in partnership with Kingston College.
Having finished a degree in professional sports writing and broadcasting, Alex Scott amassed some TV presenting credits on Soccer AM and alongside Jimmy Bullard on London Live's Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off.
She then became a regular pundit on football.
In 2016, she became one of the celebrities on Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.
In 2019, she was paired with Neil Jones on Strictly Come Dancing.
They came fifth.
In September 2020, it was revealed that Alex Scott would take over from Sue Barker as the presenter of A Question of Sport.
In 2024, she won the Royal Television Society award for best sports presenter, commentator or pundit for her work on FIFA Women's World Cup.
In the same year she joined the presenting staff of KISS radio.
