Alexis Conran's Biography
Alexis Conran was born in Paris in January 1972 but grew up in Athens.
His parents divorced when he was seven and subsequently he had little contact with his father. who was a gambling addict, a subject which was explored in Alexis's BBC documentary, Gambling and Me: The Real Hustler.
At 16, Conran came to London to study as an actor at LAMDA. He gained numerous credits, including, recently the popular ITV show The Durrells.
However acting was to prove just one string to his bow.
In 1998 he met Andy Nyman, who introduced him to magic. Conran became adept at magic and sleight of hand and his big breakthrough came in 2005 when he was asked to star in the flagship series, BBC Three's The Real Hustle alongside Paul Wilson and Jess Clement.
He appeared in numerous series of the Real Hustle and several spin-offs.
His other presenting credits include The Mind Control Freaks, Hustling America, Man Versus Expert, and Secrets of the Scammers.
A regular panellist on The Wright Stuff, he has also stood in for Matthew Wright as host of the show.
In 2016, he became the host of a weekly consumer show on Talk Radio “The Radio Hustle”.
Conran also advises companies on security issues and teaches poker.
On 17 May 2016, it was revealed that Alexis Conran was one of the contestants on Celebrity Masterchef.
On 29 July 2016, Alexis Conran won Celebrity Masterchef.
Since then, Alexis Conran has co-hosted with Gaby Roslin the Channel Five series Shop Smart, Save Money.
In 2020 he became a presenter on Times Radio.
