Chris Bates was a 24-year-old investment banker living in Surrey when he entered The Apprentice series 6. Chris ended up the runner-up.

Chris was born in Epsom, Surrey. His parents are Jill and Keith Bates.

Before The Apprentice, Chris Bates had worked for JP Morgan, having graduated with 1st class honours from Nottingham University.

Previously, Chris Bates had studied at the Wallington County Grammar from September 1997 until May 2004, where he was captain of the 1st XV rugby team and a senior prefect.

Before working at JP Morgan, Chris Bates had previously worked in an off-license and a pub.

Chris rates Gordon Ramsay as one of his greatest business icons.

In his audition for The Apprentice, Chris Bates said that he would take on every responsibility and take on being project manager.

Chris Bates's interests include playing rugby and scuba diving.

Chris Bates and Stella English reached the final two in The Apprentice in 2010, with Stella winning the final.

By the time of The Apprentice final, Stella English and Chris Bates had already been working at Lord Sugar's Viglen company for five months.
