The Apprentice in the UK is a long-running television series where aspiring businesspeople try to win the support of Lord Sugar.
The first series was broadcast on BBC Two in 2005, but by the third series, due to the popularity of the show, it was moved to BBC One.
BBC Two broadcast a show The Apprentice ... You're Fired immediately after the main show has been shown on BBC One.
The show also spawned the TV series Young Apprentice.
As well as being a popular show, The Apprentice has won much critical acclaim and its awards include a BAFTA for Best Feature, TV Choice Awards, and National Reality Television Awards.
