Michael Sophocles was a 24-year-old telesales executive, living in Edgware in North London, when he entered The Apprentice series 4.

He had very narrow escapes in weeks 7 and 8 of The Apprentice. On both occasions, it looked like Sir Alan Sugar was going to fire him, but in each instant he got away with a last moment reprieve.

In week 9 of The Apprentice, Michael Sophocles was once again in the boardroom and against expectations survived once more.

However, the following week, Sir Alan Sugar saw sense and fired Michael Sophocles, who was the losing team leader, therefore effectively consigning Sophocles to sixth place.

Michael Sophocles was working at EMP Group, which handled The Apprentice magazine.

Michael Sophocles gained an MA in History & Classics at Edinburgh University.

Michael was born in London to Cypriot parents.

Before becoming a telesales executive, Michael Sophocles worked as a silver service waiter.
