Darnell Swallow's Biography

Before entering Big Brother, Darnell Swallow, who is an ethnically black albino said: "it's so hard being the only white at the family reunion."

Darnell Swallow was born in Ipswich, but was brought up in St Louis in the USA.

At the time of Big Brother, Darnell Swallow was living in London having been deported from the States after getting involved with gang culture.

As well as being a songwriter, Darnell Swallow, who has been arrested at least five times, mentored youth groups.

Darnell lived in Italy for four years.

On 7 June 2008, The Daily Mirror reported that Darnell's father was a former jailbird with a long criminal record.

Darnell Swallow is a distant relative (his uncle's half-brother) of former footballer, Jason Dozzell.

Darnell nearly missed out on the Big Brother experience. It was only because his friend Cain was going along to the Big Brother auditions that Darnell eventually agreed to go as well.

In Big Brother, Darnell quoted how he should have altered his behaviour at times and followed the 48 Laws of Power.

The Daily Mail carried an article on why Darnell Swallow spent time in prison.

In July 2008, Darnell Swallow became the first head of household in the UK version of Big Brother.

On Day 48 of Big Brother, Darnell, along with Mohamed and Rebecca, was nominated for eviction. However, Darnell survived the public vote and Rebecca was evicted.

On Day 55 of Big Brother, it had looked like it was just Dale Howard and Luke Marsden who were nominated, but because of a rule infringement, Darnell, Kathreya, Maysoon, Mohamed, Rachel, Rex and Stuart also faced the public vote.

Darnell Swallow reached the final and ended up fifth in Big Brother series 9.
