Julie Goodyear is most famous for playing Bet Lynch, the landlady of the Rovers Return in Coronation Street.

She left Coronation Street in 1995 and the following year was awarded the MBE.
In 2006, she published her autobiography Just Julie.
In 2007, after a couple of relationships with women (whom she subsequently employed as a PA and as a housekeeper), Julie Goodyear married Scott Brand, whom she met when he was stalking her.
Julie Goodyear was 70-years-old when she entered Celebrity Big Brother in the summer of 2012.
In March 2024, Julie Goodyear's husband Scott Brand told the Mirror that she was "slowly fading away" following her dementia diagnosis.
