Kemal Shahin's Biography
Before he entered Big Brother, Kemal was based in Liverpool where he was a student and worked part time in the Passport Office. Kemal only finished one year at Liverpool John Moore's University, before Big Brother took over his life.
Kemal Shahin won a belly dancing contest in Turkey, and entered the Big Brother house in gold stilettos and a sari.
Kemal is a fan of Elvis and the Eurovision Song Contest.
Kemal describes himself as "the ultimate diva with a passion for sex and chocolate."
Kemal Shahin has a fear of cockroaches, spiders, loneliness, claustrophobia, death and never being in love.
Kemal became an early betting favourite to win Big Brother and in the first week had built a close association with Makosi, however he became the ninth housemate to be evicted from Big Brother when he got narrowly more votes for eviction than fellow nominee Orlaith.
Ironically Kemal's relationship with Makosi was to so deteriorate that even after Big Brother was finished they were still at loggerheads. As late as November 2005 they were still to be seen having a slanging match on Sky News.
Kemal's father, Tongouch, said on Big Brother's Little Brother that Kemal "likes to argue his point out ... he's got strong points of view."
Both Tongouch and Kemal's mother Hanife have revealed that they had suspected Kemal's sexuality but that their son had not openly confirmed it before Big Brother.
They subsequently proved very supportive of Kemal both in a video tape played to the housemates and on eviction night in the Big Brother studio.
Since leaving Big Brother, Kemal had made a number of personal appearances.
Since Big Brother, Kemal launched an online jewellery and accessory company.
Big Brother was not Kemal's only foray into television: Kemal reached the final 75 on Pop Idol 2003.
Following gender reassignment surgery, Kemal became Zulekya, and in 2013, graduated from Soka University of America.
