Makosi Musambasi's Biography
Makosi started a career in nursing when she was 18.
Makosi came third in Big Brother 6, beaten only by Eugene and Anthony. However, she was given a hard time by Davina and the live audience when she was evicted.
Makosi Musambasi claimed to be worried that she was pregnant through having sex with Anthony in the Big Brother house pool. Many people regarded this as a critical moment in her loss of popularity half way through the series.
Makosi lived in Wycombe with one of her sisters, Veronica. However at the end of August 2005 Makosi's working visa was curtailed and she either had to get out of Britain or appeal the decision.
In the end Makosi was allowed to stay in Britain for five years as a refugee when the tribunal ruled that there was a danger to her in returning to Zimbabwe.
Whilst contending the decision Makosi did an interview with Closer magazine, in which she decided to get off her chest (pun intended):
"I love my boobs but they're just too heavy.
"They give me terrible backache.
"I think I'll show my surgeon a picture of Halle Berry's breasts and say give me a pair of those!"
Makosi was also pulling her weight for charitable causes. After the earthquake in South East Asia, Makosi was one of the celebrities praised by the Disasters Emergency Committee after she helped with the phone-in that raised around £4 million.
Makosi Musambasi used to go out with fashion worker, Itai Madzivadondo.
After leaving Big Brother, Makosi gave an interesting interview with her local paper, the Bucks Free Press, in which she said:
"I went on to Big Brother for all sorts of reasons, but the most important reason is that my mum has a brain tumour. It's benign, it is not malignant, but it is sitting on optic nerves which could make her blind ... Her having an operation is going to cost a lot of money, so I thought if I can use myself to raise money for my mum then fair enough."
Makosi's mother, Sennie lives in Zimbabwe with Makosi's father and five other siblings.
Since Big Brother, Makosi has been lambasted by Derek Laud when he was on BBC1's Question Time; and she had a run-in with Kemal when they were interviewed on Sky News.
Makosi also tried her hand at televised poker in November 2005, playing in the 888.com UK Poker Open Championship, along with the likes of Matthew Stevens and Teddy Sheringham.
When she presented her music tastes on E4, Makosi raved about Michael Jackson, and, in particular, Thriller, which she dedicated to Kinga.
In February 2007, the BBC reported:
"Big Brother 6 contestant Makosi Musambasi has settled a libel action against The Sun, which falsely claimed she conned her way onto the TV show ..."
Makosi together with former Big Brother housemates Kinga Karolczak and Faria Alam was cast in the comedy thriller Cash and Curry.
When Big Brother announced in 2010 that Makosi was one of the ultimate housemates, they revealed that she had been in a relationship for 2 years with a 49-year-old, who lived in Africa.
Makosi Musambasi was the second Ultimate Big Brother housemate to be evicted.
Makosi subsequently presented a chat show, Makosi Today, on ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Today).
