Erica Hurst's Biography

When Erica Hurst entered the BBC's Castaway in 2007 she was 22 according to the BBC Castaway website, although she said she was 20 on the video footage used in the first programme of Castaway.

Erica Hurst from Kearsley near Bolton, worked from time to time as a lap dancer at Diamonds Lap Dancing Club for two years before going on to Castaway.

Erica married Matt Williams, whom she met at a rave, in Las Vegas on February 5, 2007. They had been going out for less than half a year, when Matt, a nightclub security manager, visited the club and asked her to stop the lap-dancing.

Erica Hurst told Castaway's Joe Chicken that if it was up to her she might still be lap dancing.

On BBC3's Castaway Exposed, he confirmed he went into the club where Erica was working to put in his request.

Erica Hurst has a BA Hons degree in Media, Cultural and Communication Studies and recently completed an acting course. Erica worked at Chester's Reiss clothing boutique whilst studying.

Erica has also written travel articles for her local press.

Erica Hurst might be suited to Castaway as she is no stranger to living in remote areas with little to hand. Erica spent two weeks in South America in very basic conditions without electricity.

Erica Hurst's hobbies include snowboarding, Thai boxing and extreme sports.
