Danny Wallace, who presented Castaway, has a number of strings to his bow. He has worked in a number of media, including writing books, devising, producing and presenting TV programmes, as well as writing for newspapers and the radio.

Danny Wallace, like Dave Gorman, with whom he has often collaborated, has written a number of books based around a big idea involving a social experiment or theme.

Yes Man is a book based around Danny Wallace's experiment of saying yes to anything and everything. Random Acts of Kindness - Danny Wallace and his Karma Army describes 365 real random acts of kindness real people have done for real strangers and Join Me describes Danny Wallace's accidental establishment of a cult collective.

Wallace had a similar project on TV when, in the BBC series How To Start Your Own Country, he set up his own country.

Danny Wallace's TV presenting roles also include, for the BBC: School's Out, Horizon: Chimps are People Too, and co-presenting Test the Nation with Anne Robinson; for Sky: Danny Wallace's Hoax Files, and Conspiracies.

As well as presenting Castaway, Danny Wallace filed regular video reports on the BBC's Castaway website.

In 2011, Danny Wallace was appointed Xfm London's weekday breakfast presenter.
