Claire Sweeney's Biography

Claire Sweeney was born on 17 April 1971 and was raised in Liverpool.

She went to the Elliott-Clarke Stage School and the Italia Conti Stage School.

She came to national attention, playing Lindsay Corkhill in Channel Four's popular soap, Brookside.

Her subsequent acting credits have included Scarborough and Benidorm and, since June 2023, playing Cassie Plummer in Coronation Street.

Her musical credits include Tell Me on a Sunday, Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Legally Blonde, and Educating Rita.

Other strings to her bow include presenting shows such as 60 Minute Makeover and Here Comes the Sun as well as being a panellist on Loose Women.

She has also released a solo album, Claire.

Claire Sweeney has appeared in many reality TV shows including Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing and is one of the celebrities on Dancing on Ice in 2024.

She was paired with professional skater Colin Grafton on Dancing on Ice. They were the third couple to be voted off.
