Colin Newell's Biography

Colin Newell from London is also known as Heavy D, Dave the Boom, and the boominator.

There is a reel on YouTube of Colin Newell acting in commercials and various film shorts.

However, he is best known for his appearances on the reality TV show Storage Hunters UK, joining as a main buyer in 2014.

Heavy D as he is known shouts “boom!” every time he wants to bid in an auction.

Storage Hunters host Sean Kelly told the BT website:

“I would like to punch Heavy D in the face. Repeatedly. And I think half of Britain would like me to do that for them! But I will tell you, his real name is Colin and Colin is actually a very lovely person.

“The thing is, he’s limited to how many auctions we actually invite him to because half the viewers tell us that when they see him, they just turn the TV off! And half of the viewers love him to death.”

In the summer of 2016, Colin Newell became one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother.

In the intro to the show, he stated that he made his own clothes and that he had been buying and selling clothes at markets since he was 8 years old.

Heavy D was the fourth celebrity to be voted out of the Big Brother house.
