Bobby Ball was born Robert Harper on 28th January 1944 in Oldham.

Much of the biographical information for Bobby Ball can be found in the biography of his comic partner Tommy Cannon.

As well as the television performances referred to in Tommy's biography, the comic duo also starred in a film called 'The Boys in Blue', a sitcom called 'Plaza Patrol' and a quiz show called 'Cannon and Ball's Casino'.

Bobby Ball also acted in the likes of Not Going Out, Last of the Summer Wine, Benidorm and Heartbeat.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s Cannon and Ball performed a lot of panto. The BBC reported how one fan has spent thousands of pounds watching the comic duo up and down the country!

Cannon and Ball were the subjects of 'This is Your Life' on 11 November 1981.

Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball were late arrivals to I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Whereas Tommy was voted out at the first opportunity, Bobby lasted quite a while - leaving just Carol Thatcher, Sheree Murphy, Sid Owen and Jimmy Osmond - during which time he revealed that he had "committed a lot of adultery against Yvonne [his wife]."

Bobby's agent, Phil Dale emphasised that Yvonne (or Von as Bobby calls her) knew about the incidents which were all in the past - and that Bobby and Yvonne were very much in love.

Bobby Ball died in October 2020, aged 76, after testing positive for Covid-19.
