Ashley Wallen's Biography

Ashley Wallen, who is from Queensland, Australia, became a professional dancer at just 16, having started training at 12.

Wallen got a major breakthrough when he was chosen to dance in Kylie Minogue's Live and Intimate tour. Subsequently he cast Kylie Minogue's On a Night Like This tour and choreographed her Love Kylie underwear launch.

Ashley Wallen has worked with several other stars including the Sugababes, Mariah Carey, Nicole Kidman, Charlotte Church, Atomic Kitten, Brian McFadden and Will Young.

Many of these jobs were dancing, but Wallen increasingly became a choreographer, including work for Dannii Minogue, Sophie Monk and Australian Fashion Week.

Ashley Wallen moved from Australia to the UK, where his first role was dancing for Atomic Kitten at Party in the Park.

An important breakthrough for Ashley Wallen for his career as a choreographer was working with Will Young in his video.

Ashley Wallen told Dancing Times regarding his work preferences:

"Musicals are not my thing. I love them; I love watching them; I'd love to choreograph one but I don't really want to be in one. I sort of kept getting pushed into them because that was all the work there was in Australia."
