Lance Bass's Biography
Lance Bass was born in Laurel, Mississippi on 4 May 1979.
Lance Bass first became famous as a member of *NSYNC, the boy-band that featured Justin Timberlake.
In 2002, Lance Bass hoped to become the third space tourist but failed to raise the necessary $20m.
Nevertheless Bass had substantial training to be a cosmonaut at Russia's Star City and was certified by the Russian Space Program and NASA for a mission aboard a Soyuz craft.
Lance Bass has had an operation to correct a heart murmur.
Bass executive produced and starred in the film On the Line and also made guest appearances in Zoolander and various TV programmes including The Simpsons, Star Search, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Lance Bass was a judge on the TV series America's Most Talented Kid.
Lance Bass has written a memoir, Out of Sync.
Lance Bass's charitable work includes establishing The Lance Bass Foundation and being a World Space Week Youth spokesperson.
In 2006 Bass announced that he is gay in an interview with People magazine.
In Dancing with the Stars series 7, Lance Bass danced with Lacey Schwimmer. They got into the final and ended up third.
