Gilles Marini's Biography

Gilles Marini played Dante, who often appeared nude and lived in the beach house next door to Kim Cattrall's Samantha in the Sex and the City movie.

As a result of Sex and the City, Gilles Marini won "best rear" at Bravo's A-List Awards.

Gilles Marini's mother was Greek and his father, who was a baker, was Italian, however Gilles was born in Grasse in France.

Gilles Marini had a stint with the French army and served as a fireman for the Brigade des Sapeurs Pompiers de Paris.

He then became a model including working in Milan as a runway model for Armani Jeans.

After moving to the USA, Gilles Marini gained work as an actor as well as a model. His credits include Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Criminal Minds, and he was also cast as Vanessa Redgrave's husband on Nip/Tuck.

Asked about his appearance in Sex in the City, Gilles Marini told People Magazine: "We are from France, so sex is very well-accepted."

In Dancing with the Stars season 8, Gilles Marini partnered Cheryl Burke.

Gilles and Cheryl were runners-up.
