Jenny Douglas's Biography

When she appeared on Over The Rainbow, Jenny Douglas was an 18-year-old from South Queensferry, near Edinburgh.

She was brought up by her mother Mary Douglas a foster carer for Edinburgh Council, after Mary and Jenny's father Andrew, a taxi driver, were divorced.

For two years before Over The Rainbow, Jenny Douglas toured the east of Scotland singing at charity nights.

She made the final of a competition called Festival For Stars.

She has also sung with Any Dream Will Do finalist Keith Jack.

She had met him before but Jenny Douglas's mother pointed out:

"I'm not sure if Keith remembered her - she has changed a lot from ages 14 to 18. She was quite a chubby teenager but trimmed right down and has come into her own now after going to the gym."

After studying at Tynecastle High School in Edinburgh, Jenny Douglas studied music theatre at Motherwell College, where she was attending at the time of Over The Rainbow.
