Elizabeth Debicki's Biography
Elizabeth Debicki was born in Paris but went with her family to Melbourne when she was five.
Her father, who was Polish, and her mother, of Irish heritage, were ballet dancers who had met at The Lido in Paris.
In 2010, Debicki graduated in drama from the Victorian College of the Arts at the University of Melbourne.
It did not take long for her acting career to take off.
In 2010, she appeared in the Australian-British film, A Few Best Men.
The following year, she starred in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of The Gift.
2013 saw two important acting credits for Elizabeth Debicki: Baz Luhrmann cast her as Jordan Baker in his film The Great Gatsby (for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Award from the Australian Film Institute); and she appeared alongside Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert in The Sydney Theatre Company’s production of The Maids.
As a result of which, she won the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Newcomer.
Elizabeth Debicki's other credits include the films Macbeth, Everest, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
In 2016, she was cast as Jed Marshall in the BBC's The Night Manager.
In October 2016, Elizabeth Debicki was cast as Mona Sander in The Red Barn in the National Theatre.
She also starred in the films The Great Gatsby and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
In August 2020, it was revealed that Elizabeth Debicki would play Princess Diana in the final two seasons of The Crown.
In the same year she played Kat in Christopher Nolan's film Tenet. His co-stars included, Kenneth Branagh and Robert Pattinson.
In 2022, she played Princess Diana in The Crown, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a musical, comedy or drama TV series.
Her height is 6ft 3in tall.
