Emma Barnett's Biography
Emma Barnett was born on 5 February 1985 in Manchester.
She studied at Manchester High School for Girls and Nottingham University.
Her father was a businessman, who, when Emma was in her early twenties, went to prison for his role in owning massage parlours in Manchester.
Before moving into radio, Emma Barnett worked at The Telegraph for several years where her roles included being Digital Media Editor and then Women's Editor.
She started her role as a radio host at LBC, but moved to Radio 5 Live in 2014.
She has also been a presenter on Woman's Hour On Radio 4.
Emma Barnett's TV work includes The Pledge on Sky News and After The News on ITV.
In March 2019, it was announced that Emma Barnett would be one of the presenters of Newsnight.
In September 2020, the BBC revealed that Emma Barnett would become the main presenter of Woman's Hour on Radio 4 from January 2021.
