Who is Calum Best?

Calum Best is the son of George and Angie Best and seems to pop in and out of the tabloids in association with various romantic entanglements, and also puts in the occasional television appearance.

Angie Best on her website wrote: "My son Calum is my pride and joy... Calum and I went through many journeys together, some wonderful and some not so wonderful, however together, we could always get through anything."

Calum Best seems to have had a mixed relationship with his father. When George Best had a liver transplant in 2002, Calum, then 21, was at the hospital waiting for George to emerge from surgery.

On the other hand, reports of George Best's drink-driving offence in 2004 refer to George and Calum Best having a meal together and George Best's solicitor saying:

"The evening went badly and they ended up arguing. That clearly upset Mr Best a great deal."

Calum Best has been romantically linked with Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, Jodie Marsh, Alicia Douvall, Patsy Kensit, Alexandra Aitken, Orlaith McAllister and Elizabeth Jagger (daughter of Mick Jagger).

On February 17 2005 Elizabeth Jagger and Calum Best were caught by CCTV cameras in an amorous encounter just inside the front door of a West End nightclub.

In April 2005, Calum Best picked up Company magazine's Bachelor of the Year Award.

Calum Best was one of the celebrities contestants on the reality television series, "Celebrity Love Island" in 2005. Other contestants included Rebecca Loos, Abi Titmuss, Liz McClarnon, and Jayne Middlemiss.

In 2006 Calum Best returned to Love Island. Speaking prior to his departure, Calum said:

"Last year, I left it thinking it [Love Island] was one of the best experiences of my life, so hopefully I'll go on, meet new people and have the same kind of feeling ... I think Colleen and Bianca are the two that I would definitely flirt with in there."

Calum Best started getting close to Bianca Gascoigne, which annoyed Leo Ihenacho, who told Celebrity Love Island: "All I know is that Calum thinks with his loins. He is loins based ..."

Leo explained how back home he, Calum and Sarah Harding had gone to a club: "I was talking to Sarah and he was like, 'Leo, enough talking now, stay away from my girl!' Warning me off!"

In the end, though, Calum Best won the 2006 Love Island with Bianca Gascoigne voted the winning woman.

In November 2006 The Mirror reported on an encounter between Calum Best and Lindsay Lohan.

On 18 May 2007, the Daily Mail, in a news item, Lindsay's fury at cheating Calum, reported that 'just two weeks into their high profile love affair, and already there's trouble in paradise for Lindsay Lohan and Calum Best'.

On 3 August 2007, People reported Lindsay Lohan as saying of Calum Best:

"I like him. He's me in male form. We're very similar. Stubborn, rebellious, very smart, coy, a little bit narcissistic – I think all actors have a little bit of that, and so they should."

Calum has a tattoo 'Best' on his back.

In 2008 Calum Best appeared on MTV1 in Totally Calum Best, where he went 50 days without sex.

In 2009, Calum Best made a documentary Brought up by Booze: A Children in Need Special, which dealt in detail with his relationship with his father, George Best.

In January 2015, Calum Best was one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother.

He returned to the show in 2017, when he was one of the All-Stars in Celebrity Big Brother series 19.

He came 7th.

In August 2017, it was revealed that Calum Best would be one of the celebrities in the third series of E4's Celebs Go Dating.
