Who is Jack Dee?

Jack Dee was born on 24 September 1961 in Kent.

He left school with four O-levels, and started working in restaurants, including a stint at The Ritz.

After gaining acclaim for his stand-up comedy act, in the early 1990s he was given his own show, The Jack Dee Show, by Channel Four. Other comedy shows followed.

He also gained acting parts in the likes of Jonathan Creek, Kingdom, and Lead Balloon, in the latter of which he played Rick Spleen from 2006 to 2011 as well as being a co-author of the series.

He also became the host of the Radio 4 comedy show I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue.

Jack Dee also won the first series of Celebrity Big Brother.

In 2015, Jack Dee took over from Dara O'Briain as the host of The Apprentice: You're Fired.

However, in 2016, he revealed that he was stepping down from The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

His other projects at the time included filming series two of the BBC sitcom Josh and working on specials of his BBC Two series, Jack Dee's Helpdesk.

In 2017, it was revealed that Jack Dee would star in an ITV comedy he co-wrote called Bad Move.

In 2021, he wrote What is your Problem? In it, he spoofs the psychotherapy profession.




Trivia
In his youth he thought about becoming a priest.
