Victoria Silvstedt was born on 19 September, 1974, in Northern Sweden.

Silvstedt was a member of the Swedish National Ski Team, before she injured her shoulder as a teenager.

Victoria Silvstedt's mother and sister had a major part to play in kicking off Victoria's modelling career. In 1993, without Victoria's knowledge, they entered her into the Miss Sweden Beauty Pageant, which she went on to win.

Victoria Silvstedt was also a finalist in the 1993 Miss World Pageant.

Silvstedt started modelling in Paris but her major modelling breakthrough came when Hugh Hefner invited her to do a photo shoot for Playboy. As a result Victoria Silvstedt became Miss December 1996 and the 1997 Playmate of the Year.

As well as modelling, Silvstedt has acted in movies and on television. Recent films include Boat Trip with Cuba Gooding and La Mia Vita A Stelle e Strisce, directed by Massimo Ceccherini.

She has also presented on radio and television including the cult Channel 4 (UK) series Eurotrash.

In April 2005 Victoria Silvstedt became one of the participants in ITV's troubled series, Celebrity Wrestling, along with the likes of Annabel Croft, Michelle Heaton, Leilani Dowding and Kate Lawler.

Victoria Silvstedt is married to broadcaster, Chris Wragge.

In her review of E! Entertainment's reality TV series Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life, Lucy Mangan of The Guardian wrote:

"What you are looking at is in fact a person who has deliberately scoured out her personality from the inside in order to become famous."
